В 1925—1927 гг. по заданию Оренбургского отделения Комиссии по истории Октябрьской революции и Коммунистической партии (Истпарта) П. А. Кобозевым были написаны воспоминания о борьбе за установление советской власти в Оренбургском крае. Обращение к отдельным работам советской и современной историографии позволяет говорить о воспоминаниях Кобозева как о востребованном и в то же время недооцененном мемуарном источнике. Советские историки опускали подробности, бросавшие тень на революционную сознательность сформированных из рабочих отрядов красной гвардии. Подбор цитат и выводы обязательно делались с учетом политической конъюнктуры и идеологии. В современной литературе, напротив, сложилось предвзятое и даже негативное отношение к П. А. Кобозеву и его соратникам по борьбе за советскую власть.

In 1925—1927 on the instructions of the Orenburg branch of the Commission on the History of the October Revolution and the Communist Party (Istpart), P. A. Kobozev wrote memoirs about the struggle for the establishment of Soviet power in the Orenburg Territory. Certain works of Soviet and modern historiography allow us to speak of Kobozev’s memoirs as of a sought-after and at the same time underestimated memoir source. Soviet historians omitted the details that cast a shadow on the revolutionary consciousness of the Red Guards formed from the workers’ detachments. The selection of quotes and conclusions were made taking into account the political situation and ideology. In modern literature, on the contrary, there is a biased and even negative attitude towards P. A. Kobozev and his associates in the struggle for Soviet power.
