Abstract
Marina S. Trifonova’s monograph under review addresses a pressing issue in South Ural historiography, focusing on the activities of professional and amateur musical institutions in the region in the post-war decade. The book has a traditional structure, including an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, a bibliography, and an appendix. The conclusions at the end of each chapter and in the conclusion part align with the stated research objectives. The author introduces previously underutilized archival materials into scholarly circulation. Of particular interest are the historical topics devoted to the repertoire of regional musical theaters and the artistic and creative activities of philharmonic societies in the Southern Urals. The book examines the organization of amateur art festivals and their importance for the development of amateur artistic creativity in the Bashkir ASSR and in the Chkalov and Chelyabinsk regions. Keywords
